Jon has been a member of the Counselling Staff at Christian Counselling Services (CCS) since 2009, and has served at the Executive Director of CCS since 2019.
Jon has a B.A. from Taylor University, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and Master of Divinity from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology,
and he is currently pursuing a Ph. D. in Philosophical Theology at the Institute for Christian Studies.
He is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
Jon is an individual, couple, and family therapist who enjoys working with people on a wide range of relational, emotional, vocational and spiritual issues toward further maturity,
healing, and wholeness. Some of his areas of clinical interest are anxiety, depression, anger, sexual abuse, sexual addictions, vocational discernment, faith development,
and life transitions. He incorporates an integrative client-centered approach that is relational, narrative, psychodynamic, and spiritually self-aware.
Jon thinks life is about movement in the direction of maturity in all aspects of our lives, and considers psychotherapy as focusing on such movement in the emotional and
relational aspects of our lives, specifically, and thus likes to frame his work with people in terms of Emotionally Focused Sanctification.
Jon enjoys adventuring with his family, movies, reading, and fly fishing, particularly the salmon and steelhead runs in urban rivers in the GTA. He is married and has three children.
