Q: What is Christian Counselling Services?
We are a community of professionals offering counselling and psychotherapy services for people who are searching for help with psychological, emotional and/or spiritual healing, growth and change.
All our therapists have a masters or doctoral degree and training in psychotherapy, psychology, social work, pastoral counselling or couple / family counselling. We maintain membership in our respective professional organizations.


Q: What does Christian counselling mean?
Our counsellors belong to a variety of denominations and share a common belief that human beings are created good. At the same time we all experience brokenness and need healing and are invited to relationship with God, each other, ourselves and all creation.
We are rooted in the pastoral care tradition of the Church, grounded in the ministry of Jesus and the ongoing work of the Spirit. We desire to work with others to bring healing and pursue justice, using the gifts God has given us, confident of God's grace and mercy.

We work with people from all walks and stages of life wherever they are in their life journey.
We welcome a broad and diverse population of Christians, and people of other faiths and belief systems. We serve people from the Greater Toronto region and neighboring communities.


Q: What brings people for counselling?
People seek counselling for various reasons including concerns such as:
• anxiety
• grief
• depression
• self image
• relationships
• couple, family or interpersonal difficulties
• faith and spiritual questions
• trauma due to physical, sexual or emotional abuse or accidents
• eating disorders
• addictions such as alcohol, drugs, gambling or pornography
• work problems
• a desire for personal growth and change

Our goal is to work in partnership with you by exploring the issues and challenges which are disrupting or constricting as you seek to enjoy greater fullness of life.


Q: Are services private and confidential?
Christian Counselling Services is committed to maintaining your privacy and confidentiality. Information about you will not be shared with anyone or any organization without your signed consent.


Q: How do I make an appointment?
There are three ways to contact us about an appointment or to make a referral:

Potential clients are matched with a suitable staff member who will contact you to schedule an appointment.


Q: When are appointments available?
Day and evening appointments are available, Monday to Friday.


Q: How much does counselling cost?
Fees for our services are determined by a sliding fee scale based on household income. Many people have access to an extended health plan which covers the cost of counselling services. Some church communities provide financial assistance.
Fees for vocational assessments and psychological services are determined on a case by case basis.


Q: How do I pay for counselling?
Payment is due at each session and may be made in cash, or by cheque, VISA, MasterCard, or Direct Debit.


Q: How long are appointments?
Appointments are typically 55 minutes long. Please give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment. This allows us to use the time for someone else.

Fees for these services are negotiated on an individual basis.


Q: What is the agency's status?
We are incorporated as a not for profit agency and as a registered charity. Our registration number is: 11896 9922 RR0001.
We receive donations to support our client work through personal and corporate donations. Some people direct their United Way employee contributions to us using our registration number and others use the connection to CanadaHelps on the website.
