Ken began his career at Christian Counselling Services in 1973
as an intern and remained on staff as a counsellor.
He also served as the Executive Director of CCS from 1995 to 2018. He is a clinical member of the
Ontario Association of Consultants Counsellor Psychometrists and
Psychotherapists. He is currently completing a doctoral program
at the Institute for Christian Studies examining the post-Freudian
psychoanalytic and post-modern approaches to psychotherapy.
Ken’s initial training and practice in psychotherapy was
based on the client centered model of Carl Rogers and interlaced
with the person centered therapy of Paul Tournier. Subsequent
training in systems theory led to his psychotherapeutic interest
in applying systems theory in his work with families, couples,
individuals and organizations.
Ken acknowledges that all healing is God’s gift and that
it is essential for him as a Christian counsellor to have a personal
relationship with God who is revealed in Scripture. Ken finds
that it is in exploring the painful experiences of life that client
and therapist are brought to healing possibilities by the Spirit
of God.
