Raymond (Ray) sincerely believes that every human person has the inner resources for change and growth.
The two words that best describe his work with care-seekers are ‘To-Explore’ & ‘to -Empower’.
His approach in psychotherapy is eclectic in responding to the care-seekers’ needs and goals.
Ray draws his therapeutic skills from a variety of theoretical models.
After having finished his initial training in Psychotherapy at ANUGRAHA, Tamil Nadu – India,
Ray completed his Master’s degree in Pastoral Counselling through Regis College within the Toronto School of Theology,
University of Toronto. In addition to his academic and clinical qualifications are his fifteen years of Parish/Pastoral
experience in the Catholic Tradition and his Indian cultural background.
Ray’s approach to psychotherapy and counselling can best be described as understanding, respectful,
empathetic, nurturing, non-judgmental, perceptive and inclusive.
Ray is an associate member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC),
a Student member of the American/Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT/OAMFT),
and a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
As a Registered Psychotherapist and a Pastoral Counsellor, Raymond invites his care-seekers to explore their concerns
which they bring to him in therapy.
Ray’s non-anxious presence in therapy helps his care-seekers to entrust themselves to the therapeutic process
and work with him in resolving their issues, both short-term as well as long-term.
Ray journeys with persons who are experiencing difficulties as individuals,
couples and families: grief & loss, anxiety and depression, relational and communication challenges,
work/career issues, traumatic life events, sexual/gender orientation concerns, and issues related to emotional,
mental and spiritual health.
He is committed to exploring areas in the lives of those with whom he works through dialogue and supportive listening,
Psycho-Education, life coaching and work with teenagers/young adults dealing with parental separation/divorce.
When Ray is not involved in the art and skills of therapy, he enjoys cooking delicious Goan/Indian dishes
and is an awesome baker, particularly his fruit cake which is irresistible (even for people with diabetes).
Ray say’s “Cooking/Catering would be his second career”
