She applies a Christian perspective while using different therapy models and approaches.

She has experience working on issues such as stress, anxiety, guilt, depression, anger, isolation, shame, sexual abuse, trauma, emotional abuse, low self-esteem, abandonment, grief, forgiveness, life transitions and codependency, and experience with couples around issues related to communication, marital roles, abuse, infidelity and divorce, among others. Macaria offers counselling in both English and Spanish.

Aside from being a counsellor, she has worked as a journalist in newspapers, radio and TV in Canada and out of Canada, as a director of public communications, public relations and human development in municipal governments out of Canada, and as a general coordinator of non-profit organizations serving the Hispanic community in Canada. Also, in recent years she has been offering workshops and conferences on the topic of marriage in Christian churches and at special events, as well as attending radio and TV interviews to promote her work. Macaria enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends as well as reading, writing, watching good movies and travelling.
