Macaria holds a Master in Christian Counselling with Major in Marriage and Family. She has attended workshops in CBT, Schema Therapy and Gottman Therapy, among others. She is a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). Macaria has been seeing clients since 2013.

Macaria works along individuals and couples in their goals, such as, to heal from past experiences; to see themselves, others, and the world from a healthier perspective; to value and accept themselves, their needs and wants; to improve their relationships with themselves, others, and God. She supports her clients towards resolving issues to aspire to live with more awareness, compassion, freedom, peace, happiness, love, purpose, and fulfillment. She applies a Christian perspective for those wanting to allow God, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, to be part of their journey, while also using different therapy models and approaches.

She has work experience on issues such as stress, anxiety, guilt, depression, anger, shame, sexual abuse, trauma, emotional abuse, low self-esteem, abandonment, grief, forgiveness, life transitions and codependency as well as couple’s work experience on issues such as communication, resolution of issues, and infidelity, among others. Currently, Macaria offers counselling in Spanish.

Aside from being a counsellor, she offers workshops in community agencies, Christian churches and special events as well as attends Hispanic radio and TV interviews to promote counselling.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends as well as reading, writing, watching good movies and travelling.
